still can't find my eraser, so this drawing got more shading than usual to hide possibly erased spots. :P all I could think was "lol furries" when doing this one... but hey, she's FOXY.

oh man I had so many ideas for this one, and this just happened. I still have not found my eraser, so these last few have been done w/no erasings - gah! so many things I could add and subtract!! must commit! no undo button!

I couldn't find my eraser, so this one's done w/o any erasing at all. I started her a little too far to the left on the page, so her hammer turned into a backwards axe :\

she's like a spartan badass or something. not a cheerleader. but that would also be fun. 

monster girl: alien

so then THIS happened. o_O

robot girl ends up being WAY cuter than a monster girl should be, hahahhaa - but she's missing both legs and her foot dangles from a power source above her. ta daaaah. also, replicant eyes, what what.

monster girl: ghost

once again, I want to doodle a lot more and... she ends up being more floaty weird girl, than GHOST, to me. hm. well, round 2 next time. :)

this project fell behind quickly while I was on vacation!

no worries, I will catch up and soon there will be a billionty new monster girls to enjoy :)

oh hai there. ::wave::

monster girl: dullahan

soooo I had to look this one up, and ...apparently a dullahan is a type of unseelie fae. they're headless and prefer to carry their wide-mouthed evil grinning head under one arm while they ride around on black horses. also apparently they have whips made of human spines, and they ride around the country side telling people when they're going to die. when they say your name, you're next! 

this was a super-quick sketch, but I at least captured the rough idea of the dern thing.

this was a quickie. she's got bullet holes cuz she was shot & NOT killed... cuz she was already dead! ...ad once again I want to do another 5 versions of this one. dang this challenge! I will be doing it forevers!!

alrighty, I ended up finishing her on the beach. I STILL am not super-happy with her feet, but the goal is to just draw every day, not make perfect sketches every time. at least, that's how 'm playin' this one. :)

more monster girls on monday!

I have the succubus monster girl almost done - I nearly posted her not finished, but want to get her complete now. I'm behind on the next few as well, since my husband just had his bday and we've been celebrating :) I will be out of range of computer action for the weekend, but plan on bringing my sketchbook and catching up on all my monster girls for the challenge over the next few days.

I can see how drawing ladies day after day could get tricky w/the same general pose/facial expression/etc... so I tried out a from-behind version on this one. :)

monster girl: octomaid

a day late, but she's still here! I wanted to add some shell jewelry or something, but ran out of time. this whole series just makes me want to draw more of each monster girl!!

this one's loosely based on the corpse flower. I would like to do a second go, cuz I feel like this is a cheap cop-out for a plant girl, but ...again, time required me to get SOMEthing up.

I had in my head a spider girl who crochets herself cute accessories, and... this is what happened. she obviously needs her some something to be sitting on, but it was late and I wanted to get this one knocked out.

...and then I waited until the next day to post it :)

I opted for a creepier mermaid. I had her a LOT more skeletal, but then she looked undead, and I wanted her alive. mouth fulla pointy teeths, yes indeedy.

monster girl: naga

I have been watching this ridiculous anime called "princess tutu" (it was on my recommended for me list in netflix, and I was bored on a bus trip from NYC) - it's all about ballerinas, among other things. I drew this while watching a few episodes, and feel like some of the ballet things I have been watching got interpreted into this one. I feel like snake ladies should have big headdresses and arm bangles, too. slinky things, faux-hoods, flashy stuff. yes yes yes.

I feel like 'll need to do this challenge again, just to get all the monster girl ideas I keep having out. consider this a round 1. :)

this one was tricky, and I really should've started waaaay up higher on the page, cuz she kept getting goopier and drip-droppy ....right to the far corner of my paper! O_O

monster girl: centaur

I need to get a better way to get these pix online quickly, but dang my new phone sure does do in a pinch. good ol' scanner app. :D

I tried for a more dynamic pose this time, and centaurs, being half-horse, I always imagined them frolicking and being very playful. so here ya go, a cutie centaur girl comin' right atcha! 

after this set of 30 is finished, imma go back and touch up, color, and properly scan my favorites. ^_^

I suppose this could count as the centaur, but I like drawing centaurs as horse-kinds too, and this one just came out as a dragon-lady instead. So... bonus monstergirl, tra la la!

I think the wings could definitely use more work, but I their general gesturing gets the point across.

creating a space to share

I don't have a web presence for my artwork, and I am looking to change that with the creation of this here blog (even tho I hate the word "blog"). 'm hoping to share all my creative arts, including:

• sketches, drawings, and paintings
• yarn crafts (cross stitch, bracelets, knitting/crocheting)
• jewelry dabblings
• party-related craftings

I will be kicking things off with the 30-day monster girl challenge. look for updates daily (or a 2-fer if I miss a day) for the next month, and from there on out, who knows?!
